Sharing Grandma

My little cousin Oscar arrived 3-13-06 weighing in at 9lbs 2oz. and I hear he might even have some height on me already. I can't wait to meet him and I know when he's a little bigger we will love playing together. In the meantime, I heard a rumor from my parents that I have to share my Grandma Becky with him. I'm not so sure about this but Grandma says she has enough love for both me and my new cousin Oscar.

Clapping and Waving

Where's Charlie?

Peek-a-boo!

Clap your hands Daddy.

Bye-Bye

So many new discoveries this last week, where do I start? I learned how to clap my hands and wave bye-bye. I even surprised Mommy by saying bye-bye along with the wave. Just when I've got them thinking I'm cute, I decided to play peek-a-boo with my shirt with Daddy.

My world just got a little bigger as I have mastered crawling up and down the stairs. Mommy didn't even need to baby-proof the basement since I spend most of my time looking out the back door or playing with Daddy's play station control. But thanks Mom for putting a toy box down there, I like to bang on the lid.

Walking is Cool!

Dear Aunt Dawn and Uncle Jeff, a little parental advice; when you think or see a cool new "developmental" toy from Target don't even consider buying it. Just get out Cleo's leach or a chew toy and you're good to go. I'm guessing Oscar will play with it for hours and not get bored with it.

"Here I go"

By January 26th, 2006 I started to get the hang of this walking thing. Mommy and Daddy call it the "Frankinstein" walk. I'm getting around pretty good, and hey the hands help for balance. My favorite things to do this week are to take the magnets off the fridge and dance to music. Daddy says I've made some major milestones within the last week, I got two new upper teeth, love to jabber and am saying "Daddy" a lot, I've almost got them convinced that I know what I'm saying. I also like to practice crawling up and down the stairs.

"Got it"

"and of course it's in my mouth"!

I'm Signing

January 18, 2006

Mommy and I were reading my soft little book tonight, the one with a fire truck, train, car, etc...AND when we got to my favorite page I decided to show off my new trick and signed "airplane". Mommy couldn't believe it so we did it again and again. Then she showed me a block that had an airplane on it and I showed her I knew the sign. I love watching the airplanes go by outside and we always talk about them, so I decided it was time to show them what I know. Mommy and Daddy were sooo excited and they kept asking me over and over...after the 10th time I was getting tired, but I did let Mommy get the picture.

We celebrated my first "Firefighter" birthday party last Saturday, January 14th. Papa Don and all the Estees came over. I had so much fun. I gave my cousins little fire hats to wear while they played and colored pictures. I ate a whole piece of Big Fred's pepperoni pizza, not leaving much room for birthday cake and ice-cream. Although Mommy and Daddy asked for birthday cards only as I didn't need any new toys, I received fun toys like a fridge animal magnets, wooden puzzles, a fire truck book that makes a lot of noises and a toy bowling set (watch out Grandma Becky). Here's a picture of Bella reading a story to me...it started "Once upon a time, there was a firefighter named Maverick..."

My First Steps!

12.28.05

A little ploy from Dad as I really like his hat and I'm taking my first unaided steps. Mom catches the picture and Grandma cheers me on. Won't be long and they'll be chasing me.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Dawn, I love my new rolling pony. It's perfect for cruising through the kitchen. I also love to turn the pony over and spin his wheels. P.S. You should see my dismount.

My First Birthday!

Here I am with my new toy truck I got for Christmas from my dad's cousin, Libby. I love pushing it around and making truck sounds.

A visit to Dr. Moore today for my 12 month check up and a couple of shots (I hate that part). I was a little bummed out at my weigh in, at 19 lbs I'm one pound shy for the forward-facing car seat event. Believe it or not, I'm in the 70th percentile for height at 30 1/4 inches. Doc says long and lean is good. His good news was that I can now eat anything, that means my favorites pizza, ice-cream and brownies!!!
